LOST IN THE TREES “An Artist’s Song”

Lost in the Trees is a folk orchestra from North Carolina led by Ari Picker.

Picker’s mother committed suicide a few years ago following the deaths of Ari’s twin siblings. It’s a family tragedy that’s inspired most of his music.

On the band’s latest album A Church That Fits Our Needs, Picker attempts to write from his mother’s point of view and create a musical space for her memory to live in. It’s a heartwarming concept that’s led to a gorgeous, saddening and engrossing masterpiece for the band.

LOST IN THE TREES “Red”

Lost in the Trees is an orchestral folk band from North Carolina led by Ari Picker. In the past, most of their lush and gorgeous songs surround Picker’s tortured and tragic family history.

He’s trying to move past that trauma with the band’s upcoming third album A Church That Fits Our Needs, starting with this early single.

LOST IN THE TREES “All Alone in an Empty House”

Orchestral folk from North Carolina with strings, horns and guitars…Lost in the Trees is quite a band.

I may have the chance to see them perform in an Austin church during SxSW. Very excited.
